A Perfect Walk Between Harajuku and Shibuya

One of the best things to do in Tokyo is simply walk between Harajuku and Shibuya.

Whether you're heading from Shibuya to Harajuku or the other way around, the energy is always incredible. The streets are buzzing, full of people, fashion, and hidden gems waiting to be discovered.

On this particular afternoon, we were out exploring and doing a bit of shopping. I was actually on the hunt for a new pair of running shoes, but as always, I found myself keeping

an eye out for great coffee shops, cafés, and unique local spots.

Since one of our walking tours covers Harajuku and Meiji Jingu Shrine, d

iscovering quality stops along the way, or for after, is always a priority!

Discovering Sedai Coffee Roasters Near Cat Street

While walking near Cat Street, we came across a café that immediately caught our attention: Sedai Coffee Roasters.

From the outside, it had a calm, inviting feel. Inside, the warm lighting, minimalist Japanese design, and relaxed atmosphere made it stand out instantly. There were quite a few people already sitting inside, which is always a good sign.

I also had a feeling I’d heard about this place before, which made stepping inside an easy decision.

What We Ordered: Pistachio Latte & Matcha Latte

It was around 3 p.m., so I wasn’t too keen on loading up on caffeine. That said, I still wanted to try something and experience what this place had to offer.

We ended up ordering a pistachio latte and a matcha latte.

The matcha was whisked right in front of us, which is always a great touch and adds to the overall experience. It had a smooth, slightly sweet flavour that made it really easy to drink, especially if you enjoy matcha that isn’t too bitter or intense.

But the real standout was the pistachio latte.

It was genuinely one of the best café drinks I’ve had in Tokyo. Light, creamy, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness without being overpowering.

It was exactly what you want as a mid-afternoon pick-me-up. Not heavy, not too rich, just smooth and easy to enjoy. Honestly, the pistachio latte alone is a reason to come back.

A Spot Worth Returning To in Harajuku

Even though we didn’t try their standard coffee this time, Sedai Coffee Roasters clearly takes their coffee seriously. They offer a selection of beans and seem to attract people who really know and appreciate good coffee.

It’s definitely a place I’ll be returning to, especially to properly explore their coffee menu next time.

If you’re exploring Harajuku, walking through Cat Street, or heading between Shibuya and Meiji Jingu, this is a perfect stop to add to your list.

Sedai Coffee Roasters is ideal for a relaxed coffee break while exploring Tokyo, trying something a little different like their pistachio latte, and soaking in that clean, minimalist café atmosphere that Japan does so well.

It’s also one of those hidden gems in Harajuku that you might easily walk past, but once you find it, you’ll want to come back.

This spot will definitely be included in our Harajuku and Meiji Jingu walking tour recommendations, and I’m excited for others to discover it and try it for themselves!
