Ebisu Banh Mi is the kind of place you’d walk past without thinking twice.

The banh mi here is fresh and tastes authentic. Flavours that makes you stop mid-bite and say, oh this is kinda legit. Scroll down for a couple funny yet insightful videos from Sebby hehe :D

A Little Hole in the Wall You’d Walk Straight Past

Ebisu Banh Mi sits just a couple minutes from Ebisu Station. It’s tucked away inside and/or on the side of a weird little alley of shops called Ebisu ストア (Store). It’s small and because it’s a little tucked-away, honestly just looks like another random food spot along the main road, but the banh mi here is surprisingly!

*No pics were taken of the actual hole-in-the-wall, but below is what the store looks like from inside the weird little alley *

We tried Banh Mi Saigon (the standard pork and pickled vegetables), the Pork & Lemongrass, and the Beef bahn mi’s.

The Baguette That Makes Everything Work

The standout here is the baguette. Super light and crusty on the outside, fluffy on the inside. An actual delight! The paté in the Banh Mi Saigon was a highlight. The meat and spice level in the beef was spot on. And the pork belly with lemongrass ended up being our favourite. Everything comes together nicely, especially with the pickled vegetables cutting through the rich paté.

All the bahn mi's were simple, well balanced and don't feel heavy.

Small Sandwiches, Big Value

Prices run between 600 and 800 yen, which is great value. The banh mi are on the smaller side, but honestly I’d happily order two for any price under 1500 yen – and that’s exactly what we did.

Three banh mi’s, two hungry boys. Zero regrets.

A Good Little Find

Value is a solid 4 out of 5. Taste sits at about 3.5 out of 5 for me. The baguette is excellent, and each banh mi has at least one standout element. Very good.

There’s no real atmosphere since there isn’t any seating. We did, however, end up eating on the stools out along the street and it made the whole thing better/ more fun.

As we ate, we people watched the people watching and judging us for eating food in a non-designated food eating place lol.

Outdoor seating.. kinda :)

If you’re in Ebisu and want something quick, clean, and satisfying, this little bahn mi shop is worth stopping for!
